TCF v2.4 Update
Effective: IAB Europe published the TCF v2.4 Specifications and updated Global Vendor List (GVL) on July 23, 2026. Usercentrics has updated the CMP to support this version.
What's changing
Updated explanatory text and illustrations for vendor Features
Each vendor Feature now displays standardized explanatory text and illustrations, sourced directly from the GVL.
Special Feature 2 renamed and clarified
"Use precise geolocation data" naming for Special Feature 2 is replaced with "Identify devices based on information actively requested." This comes with updated Vendor Guidance covering the use of Client Hints for device identification.
Legacy Legitimate Interest workaround removed
The TC string no longer carries the legacy workaround that provided a Legitimate Interest signal for vendors only declaring special purposes under legitimate interest. These vendors now rely on the Disclosed Vendors segment instead, and the previous workaround has been removed.
Deadline for Web SDK customers: Update to Web SDK version 4.64.0 before October 23, 2026. Consent collected on older versions will not reflect the TCF v2.4 changes below and may fall out of compliance after the deadline.
Mobile and CTV SDK customers have until February 23, 2027 and will receive a separate notice once the release is ready.
